The pounding waves in Tofino, B.C. are a sight to behold. Rock may win over scissors every time but water carved out the Grand Canyon. It is the ultimate adapter. It is fury and gentleness, soft and hard. The entire ocean lives within each drop. There is no place water cannot go. It gives me strength to know I am 98% water.
I made this image in an abandoned town called Parkhurst just past Whistler, B.C.
Sometimes when I need to be reminded of just how swiftly life can change I will go sit amongst these fallen houses and moss covered remnants. There is a peaceful beauty that permeates the entire area, even though much of the space is littered with what we would label garbage. Parkhurst is going through transition. A reclamation. Many of us are. To me that lends a most haunting and ethereal loveliness to it. I hope you enjoy looking through my lens.
